Benefit in Memory of Erin Suszynski - Daughter of 1981 Alumni Jerry Suszynski

Erin’s Crossings – A Benefit in Memory of Erin Suszynski
On June 9th of this year a terrible tragedy struck a loving family. Thirteen year old Erin Suszynski was struck by a car after attempting to cross Maple Road in Amherst, NY after playing at Maple East’s school playground. Erin remained in critical condition at Children’s Hospital for two weeks until she lost her battle for life.
The Suszynski family, in the midst of their grief, wants to prevent this tragedy from happening to another child. Research needs to be done as to what other types of crosswalk systems are being used across the country and what legislation is required that would make such a system mandatory at all local playgrounds here in Western New York and across the region. They hope to spread the message that that accident’s like this can be prevented. The Suszynski family also wants to keep Erin’s legacy of kindness and compassion for others alive with the hope that her sweet and caring ways never be forgotten. The family has established a foundation called Erin’s Crossings in her honor to begin working on these goals.
A fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Samuel’s Grande Manor, 8750 Main Street, Williamsville, New York 14221. If you would like to purchase a ticket, the cost is $20 adults/$10 Children.
Includes – food, pop, coffee, tea (cash bar)
Chinese Auction/ Live Auction/ 50/50 Raffle

Please help us to keep children safe, one crosswalk at a time!
