Peter resided on School Street in Berwick. He was married to Susan Jakins, another classmate, and together they had two daughters, Stefanie Dillon and Jennifer Giardino. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of the Seabees in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was employed at the General Electric Company in Somersworth, N.H. as a maintenance engineer from 1966 until his retirement in 2000. He was a member of the Berwick Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and going fishing. In high school Peter was enrolled in the Cooperative Course and employed by Baker Co, Inc.
