About (no additional information)
Events Linda Carol (Smith) Gieringer, born April 28, 1944, passed away peacefully in the hands of her daughter March 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Linda was the beloved daughter of Henry and Ruth Smith and the cherished twin sister of Sharon A. Smith. She graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1962 before pursuing a career as an X-ray technologist. She dedicated 42 years to her profession after graduating from Dartmouth-Hitchcock College.

Linda had a passion for travel, especially enjoying cruise adventures with her twin sister. She loved watching any sport on TV, and watching her grandson play the sports he loved. She recently had moved home to spend her "golden" years in Maine after living in Bradenton, FL for 20 years. She was known for her unwavering support and selflessness, always putting the needs of her family first. Her kindness and reliability made her a treasured mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend to many.

She was married to the love of her life Francis T. Gieringer Jr. for 27 years until his passing in 2004. She is predeceased by her parents and sister Doris Clark. Linda was a devoted mother to Carol Lee Levesque and her husband, Scott Levesque, and the most proud grandmother to Chase Levesque. She is also survived by her identical twin sister, Sharon A. Smith; stepchildren Francis T. Gieringer and wife Cheryl , Richard Gieringer and his wife Patty, and Rosemary Faley and husband Todd; as well as Sharon Gieringer, and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by many other friends and family that she held close to her heart.

Her memory will be forever cherished by those who knew and loved her and she will never be forgotten.

We thank the Gosnell House for their wonderful care in her last days and the great support they had in making her comfortable.
