About	Alan was born in Cambridge, New Jersey on February 22, 1944, the only child born to Frank and Carolyn (Bryant) Craig. Alan graduated from Kennebunk High School and Boston University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Management. From that point Alan served his country in the U.S. Marines, seeing front line action in Vietnam. During that time, he became pen pals for over a year with Mary Gilpatrick, whom he'd never met. After meeting then dating for 4 years, they were finally wed in 1972, settling down in North Berwick in 1975. Alan was a collector of many things including old tools, stamps, coins and record albums. He loved to yard sale, finding treasures like bicycles to repair and stuffed toys to give to kids thru the New Covenant Food Pantry, where he and his wife have served as essential volunteers to this worthy cause for many years. It brought him great joy to purchase coats and toys for the children. He was a member of the New Covenant Baptist Church. Alan also enjoyed nature, feeding the birds and squirrels. His love of giving to children came from losing his own two boys, Alan B. Craig, Jr. in 1986 and Michael Craig in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary L. (Gilpatrick) Craig of North Berwick; 2 grandchildren, Nathaniel and MacKenzie Tennant; 3 sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gilpatrick, Elinor Omeara and Dorothy Watson, and brother in law, Stephen Gilpatrick and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the New Covenant Baptist Church, 285 Maple Street, North Berwick on Saturday, January 24th, at 11:00 A.M.
