| About Me | I met my wife of 51 years at Cornell and we now have 3 terrific sons. After graduation came two years as army officer; then I went to graduate school in Arizona (biology) and did research in Kenya for a year. Some of those research projects are still ongoing 45 years later. I am immensely lucky to be able to say that for almost my professional entire career, I have been able to do the work that I love: research and teaching. It has allowed me and my family to travel and work in Africa, Europe, and in the deserts of the southwest. I have taught at a small liberal arts college, a large state university and at a major university in Portugal.
