Ray and I met the first day of first grade, George Washington Elementary. We were seated alphabetically. I ended up seated right behind Ray. We became close friends right then and there. Two years later I lost my mom to breast cancer, Ray had lost his father before he entered elememtary school. The common loss of a parent bonded us even more. Ray and I ran together through high school and the first years of UB. Then life took us in different directions but we never lost touch of each other and visited together throughout the years. We made some wonderful memories cruising in his 1960 Red, convertible Impala including the annual motorcade past Kenmore East where we blared our horns in a taunting display of the foreboding outcome of the rivalry game. Ray passed in October 2024. I miss him dearly. Bob Stresak
