About Me	Thomas Howard (Tom) Ray, a retired technical writer and editor for the US Army heavy tactical truck group in the TACOM Life Cycle Management command and formerly a technical writer for the U.S. Air Force Test & Evaluation command, served with the US Department of Defense 2001--2014. A student of complex systems, he has published two technical papers on self-organization (2006 & 2008) in the peer-reviewed online conference proceedings of the New England Complex Systems Institute, Cambridge, MA, and a book chapter, "Net-Centric Logistics" for the Springer-published volume Conflict and Complexity (Fellman, Bar-Yam, Minai, Eds.); Jan 2015. Before joining the civil service, Ray was an independent marketing communications consultant for several years, following a 22-year career in a creative capacity for a Lansing, MI based marketing communications firm. A US Navy Vietnam veteran, Ray is a Defense Information School graduate in both journalism and broadcasting and served with Armed Forces Radio & Television.
