| About Me | I was born in Buffalo N.Y. on a day when there was a very strong wind. The U.S. government's National Weather Service defines a gale as sustained surface winds of 39–54 miles/hour. Forecasters typically issue gale warnings when winds of this strength are expected. I never did like my name much while I was in elementary school and junior high because it wasn't as common as everyone I knew. I later realized it was special and had verifiable meaning behind it. My family and I drove across the country to California when I was two yrs. of age in our Packard. That was a cool car. Our home was still being built in Serra Mesa so we stayed with my Grandparents until we could move in. My Elementary school was right across the street, John Paul Jones, and what's really cool is that four of my 5 Grandkids are going there now. Who would have known!. I remember having to work in our backyard at least on weekends, picking up the trimmings from our tall hedges that separated our yard from our neighbors, on both sides! that was not fun. The other weekends were spent being taken on family trips to the desert or mountains. Oh how I hated that. None of my friends did things like that and all the winding roads made me nothing but car sick. The beach was always fun and climbing the small mountain (hill)? at El Monte Park was too.
