About Me	Well after High School I wandered around colleges in Northwest Indiana. Until, I re-enrolled at Indiana State. It took 4 years for me but I was able to graduate with a Bachelor in Music Education. (I need two more classes for my Earth Sciences Degree. We'll see if I finish that one.) I was married on July 3, 2004 to Amanda Kay McClurg. I did my student teaching that fall at Lake Central in St. John, Indiana. After completing that and receiving my diploma I was un-employed for 2 weeks when I took over as Director of Bands at River Forest Jr/Sr High. I love the program. Combined there are roughly 600 students in the schools and I have 180+ in the various levels of Bands. I have two beginning groups, a second year, and two groups in the high school. I enjoy teaching students music. And, who ever didn't believe you could get paid for doing something that you enjoy is crazy. In July 2007, I took the position of Assistant Director of Instrumental Ensembles at Kankakee Valley. It was a tough decision to make and leave River Forest. One side of me wished that I had another year or so there, but I cannot control everything. Being back at KV has provided it's own challenges. I team teach High School Band / Percussion, and High School Orchestra. I teach on my own High School Music Theory, 7th and 8th grade Band, 6th grade Strings and Percussion.
