Hello Fellow Classmates of Johnston High School, Class 1967,
Well, it was 49 years ago that we marched to good ole 'Pomp and Circumstance' and then traveled our separate journeys to find a productive and hopefully happy life. It certainly is amazing how time does fly.
So in anticipation of our big 50th anniversary, we will reconvene to reminisce and rejoice in all those memories and discoveries that began for many even more than 60 years ago as we began elementary school.
PLEASE PLAN TO JOIN US NEXT JUNE as we mark our 50th reunion from JHS. While more concrete details will follow as they develop, here is the basic plan for our 50th reunion weekend:
FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 2017: (It was Friday, June 16, 1967 that we actually graduated)
We will meet at a local Johnston restaurant/bar to reconnect and reacquaint. This night is simply a social gathering for those who might want to get a head start before the official reunion the next night, June 17th. Here you can order from the menu, have a drink, and/or just sit and share some laughs with OLD friends. There is no cost to you other than what you order yourself, but this is certainly a nice way to begin a reunion weekend as a warm-up for the next night.
SATURDAY, JUNE 17, 2017:
The official reunion is more detailed. It will be an casual evening event with good food and great entertainment -- no formal seating, very casual dress, plenty of space both indoors and outdoors (and even a pool for those brave enough to take a dip). The committee members have been a couple of times and feel it is the exact type of venue that unequivocally suits us and our needs best. It has been nothing but laughs.
Again, specific details about both nights (where and when, etc.,) will be forthcoming as we plan more details, but we wanted you to know the outline for our reunion and, in particular, to pencil in the dates for next June.
