| About Me | OCSD Teacher Language Arts and Journalism Mom and Nana Husband, Roger Buis love to travel--not just up, down, and across interstate highways but rather the byways--read William Least Heat Moon's Blue Highways and inspires me along with traveling as a kid. Love to see and do things and learn the unique history of places visited along with meeting people. Love local color and culture and, of course it goes without saying, the food--hate eating at chains and fast food restaurants. Bucket list includes going to visit Europe all over but especially Italy, England, Germany, Spain and France; Australia to see dear friends Lisa and Kenny; want to go back to Alaska and spend more time there and catch that elusive salmon and have a try at a halibut; want to go back to Hawaii--it's been years; and while I'm at it go back to Korea. Teaching is touching lives and helping make futures possible. I love teaching 8th grade middle school, but do miss the high school curriculum--love American and British lit (11th & 12th grades.) Love to fly--helicopters first then open cockpit biplanes second. To fly is heavenly to hover is divine as the saying goes. Love to fly for adventure, sight seeing and just for the fun of it. More than anything I love to fly with my husband at the controls--that's where he shines the most. Love to ride in convertible and on Harleys--a great way to see the country, smell the aromas--well all discounting feed lots and sewage treatment plants.
