Joined in 1966 to avoid draft. Attended Air Traffic Control School at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS and after school was assigned to Dobbins AFB 8 miles from my parents house. Volunteered for SE Asia and spent a year at Takhli Royal Thai AFB Thailand. Returned to Craig AFB Selma, AL in 1969. Spent one year at Keesler as an Air Traffic Control Instructor. Discharged in 1974 and went to work with the Federal Aviation Admin. as an air traffic controller at the Atlanta Center.

I enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman in 1991, before I graduated from JMHS. I deployed to Bosnia, Kosovo, three tours in Iraq, and Afghanistan in 2011. A two year tour at Fort Riley, Kansas in 1997 was highlighted by my assignment as horseman in the Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard. I currently serve as the ABLE COMPANY First Sergeant.

I enlisted in the Marines in May 1975 and completed boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. From 1976 to 1989, I was an F-4 Phantom and F-18 Hornet electrician and plane captain serving with Marine Fighter Attack Squadrons 232, 115, and 251 in Iwakuni, Japan, Beaufort, South Carolina, and aboard USS Midway and USS Coral Sea. In 1989 I was promoted to Warrant Officer and served in Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, Restore Hope in Somalia, Desert Fox in the Arabian Gulf, Iraqi Freedom, and enduring Freedom. I also served several tours as the Combat Cargo Officer aboard USS Dubuque, USS Tripoli, USS Belleau Wood, and the Westpac Express. I retired as a CWO5 in 2006 and now live in North Carolina.
