Eddie Rufus Valentine, age 50, died on Saturday, Nov. 1 in Washington, D.C. Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Ridgeway with the Rev. W.T. Ramey, III, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Valentine, son of Alex and Louise Valentine, was born Feb. 8, 1953 in Warren County.
He was educated in the Warren County Public Schools and was a 1971 graduate of John Graham High School. He attended and completed two years at North Carolina A&T State University.
He was active with Ridgeway Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Eddie Shearin of Soul City; his parents, Alex and Louise Valentine of Ridgeway; two brothers, Alex Valentine Jr., of Galesurg, Mich. and Reginald Valentine of Rocky Mount; three sisters, Joann V. Wright and Dedic V. Alston both of Ridgeway, Connie V. Vital of Raleigh; one half brother, Kenneth Davis of Warrenton; one half sister, Yvonne Martin of Baltimore, Md.; and many other relatives.
Arrangements were by R.H. Greene Funeral Home.
