| About Me | A married California Girl (born/raised SF Bay area) landed in the State of Oregon-the place of many lakes, rivers, enchanting High Desert landscapes, Music and Spiritual Gathering places, where the "lines" have their own "songs"-(Aboriginal). NAME: Carolynn TOWN OF RESIDENCE: Bend, Oregon EDUCATION: Resource Specialist Credential and Graduate Studies in Special Education – Learning Handicapped Credential, San Jose State University (1991), Undergraduate Degree Linguisitics and Language Studies, and California Multiple Subject K-Adult Teaching Credential-UC Santa Cruz (1988). Retired from Education-September 1, 2011. OCCUPATION: Professional Community Advocate and Organizer COMMUNITY SERVICE: Carolynn has volunteered with a number of organizations in Bend, Oregon since arriving in 2005, such as Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center, First Presbyterian Church of Bend's Chancel Choir and Praise Team. Performs regularly with the Cascade Community College Chorale. Volunteers at the Tower Theater, is a member of the Bend Geneaology Society and loves the Scottish Fiddle! Carolynn is a Founding Board member of the Cascade Community College Chorale Association Board since 2008, retiring in June 2012. Carolynn has served for many years on the Santa Cruz Chorale Board (California), was also a Founding Board Member of the Loch Lomond Celtic Society, Mountain Parks Foundation Board Officer, Clan Gregor Society -Western USA Chapter Board Officer, Deputy Chieftain (Pacific Northwest Division), American Clan Gregor Society, Co-Chair of Admissions/Finance and Hospitality Committees in the JELD-WEN Traditions PGA Golf Tournament at Crosswater, Sunriver, Oregon. Registration Coordinator for the PacAm (Pacific Amateur Golf classic) at Sunriver Resort. Appointed by Presiding Deschutes Country Circuit Judge, Michael Sullivan, to serve as a Board member of the Deschutes County (Oregon) CHILDREN AND FAMILIES COMMISSION on 9/01/2009. Carolynn has active work responsibilities with the Child Abuse and Family Assessment Committee, Commission Board Development/Executive Committee and the Bend Faith Network. The Bend Faith Network was created to focus on community service and social justice, not faith doctrine, to assist community Faith-Based members and organizations to come together to understand local resource referral information, resource distribution and for coordinating mutual work for community benefit, to make new connections, and to help reduce redundancies and create efficiencies in distributing needed resources to the homeless and at-risk Families, Women and Children.
