| About Me | Born in Niagara Falls, New York. Married in 1970, divorced 1990 and remarried 1992. I have two daughters, Marne age 52, Donna age 45 and 1 grandson, Keanu age 28. My Mother died 1992, my Father died 1996 and my younger brother died 2004. I have three sisters who graduated from JFK still living in Colorado. Our parents moved us from Niagara Falls to White Sands, New Mexico in 1954 and on to Denver in 1957. In 1969 I enrolled at Colorado State University and majored in physics. I married the following spring, and we headed for New York. Our car broke down in Indiana and I ended up unloading railroad cars and then working at a lumber yard for a year. I returned to CSU in 1971 then left for Seattle in 1972. It took a few years but I could finally afford to enroll at University of Washington to major in oceanography. Started thinking about a more suitable path and switched to Washington State University to major in Accounting. Life was tough, worked full time graveyard shifts and went to school in the daytime. Graduated there in 1978, returned to Denver, got various accounting jobs and became a CPA in 1979. My job sent me to California in 1980. After a few more very tough years, my career became real when I joined the FDIC in 1985 and spent the next 3 decades closing banks, selling off the assets, paying the creditors and pursuing any bad actors. That job relocated me to Dallas in 1998, back to California in 2009, Dallas again 2012. I retired in 2014 and moved back to California. So, now I am done with that part of my life. My job had an extensive travelling requirement and sent me just about everywhere in the USA. My wife and I began travelling the world for our own enjoyment in the mid 90’s, not too many places left on our list of where we still want to go. Over the years I have been spending my leisure time building computers, fixing cars, learning to play various musical instruments, remodeling houses, have had a few motorcycles, took up powered paragliding for a while, raised honey bees, scuba diving, brew passable beer and wine, hike and just seem to be always fixing that stuff that constantly gets broken. I still run competitively but am down to just 5k’s. It’s become easier to get ribbons lately as there are so few runners in my age group any more.
