About Me	My name is Kerry, but everyone calls me Papa Bear. I am the Logistics Manager for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. I have been at NCAR for 24 years. I am responsible for the export compliance, import compliance, hazardous materials compliance, and total logistics for all of the atmospheric research projects around the world. I am an ITAR empowered official, a licensed U.S. Customs Broker, a (CUSECO) Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer - ITAR/EAR, and a ECTI Certified Export Compliance Professional (ITAR/EAR). I am a member of the Council On The Safe Transport of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA), and the Society for International Affairs. Away from work, I volunteer (as my yearly 2 week vacation) at Give Kids The World in Kissimmee, Florida. www.gktw.org This is a village where kids with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families go as part of their "Wish". I also volunteer locally (in the Denver area) as a board member with Joseph's Journey. We provide hunting and fishing journeys for kiddos that are terminal. www.josephsjourney.org I became a part of these after I lost my granddaughter, Bethany, in August of 2005 at the age of 4 1/2. www.bethanyslife.org Bethany got to go to GKTW on her "wish". She also always asked me when I was going to take her hunting with me.... She never got the chance. Thus, Give Kids The World and Joseph's Journey, so I can help children have a chance at something normal, even if for only a moment. I am Papa Bear to these kids! I also free lance on the side as a hazardous materials transportation trainer for freight forwarding companies and organizations that ship hazardous materials. I am a hazmat geek. Hazmat is my Passion! I do not read novels, magazines or newspapers....only regulations! Thus....geek. I have been married to the same wonderful woman, Diane, since October 15, 1977 I have two grown sons (Scott -32 and Chad - 29). I have 5 grandchildren: Bethany (who would have been 12 this year), Gideon - 7, Trinity - 5, Hayden - 4, and Benjamin - 3. I am an avid hunter and fisherman. I am also a musician.
