About	Richard Grimes passed away from colon cancer at age 79 in Ventura, California. Rich was a committed and involved student in the JBHS Class of 1964, on varsity football, basketball, and baseball teams and in Letterman's Club, the Boy's Council, and Legislative Council. After graduation, he went to Chapman University, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in Physical Education. In 1976, he added a Master's in educational administration from CSU Northridge. He married classmate Trudy Moorberg, whom he first met at David Star Jordan Junior High School, and had two daughters. Events	Family and friends celebrated Rich's life of compassion and service ethic on September 20, 2025, at Rincon Beach Park in Carpinteria, a town where he loved living close to the beach. Fellow classmates Trudy Treloggen, Don Casella, Bob Ranney, and Linda and Gary Oseransky attended. Rich is survived by his two daughters, Mindee and Brittany, and five grandchildren: Safiya, Sabree, Cole, Dylan and Blake.
