Doreen was a devoted wife, beloved mother and proud grandmother.
She graduated from Johnson Senior High School in St. Paul, MN. She worked as a waitress at Yarusso’s, her family’s Italian restaurant, with many neighborhood friends and family members. Doreen also spent part of her work life working for the Department of Education. Married to Paul, the great love of her life, she spent the next 47 years building a beautiful home and serving as the strong matriarch of her family. Together, Paul and Doreen raised five children, later welcoming eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016) at 11 AM with an hour visitation prior.

My mom and I knew her very well. I'd have lunch at the Yarusso house when I attended Lincoln (grade school). As well as teaching me to twirl a mean baton, she was an accomplished hairdresser. One night she really 'teased and ratted' my hair. Over night, I was afraid to move a muscle and disturb my lovely hairdo for class the next day! She will be truly missed.....
