About Me	I graduated in 2005, from Grand Valley State University, with my Bachelor's Degree in History with my elementary (and therefore Junior High) teaching endorsement. My dream is to be a History/Social Studies Teacher at Jenison Junior High-- I want to teach the Quest Class. My biggest influence was Mr. D. Smith-- the best history teacher ever-- hands down. After sending out 3,000 resumes over several years, I went back to GVSU to work on my Graduate degree in Educational Leadership (to be a Principal or Superintendent). I am also, during the 2008-2009 school year, picking up my social studies endorsement, and will be dual certified history/social studies by Spring of 2009. I also met the love of my life, DJ Parkin, while sword fighting at GVSU in the fall of 2001... right before 9/11. I love Renaissance History and costuming, and he loves Shakespeare, so it was love at first sonnet... We married in 2005, and our wedding won the title of "Third Best Renaissance Wedding in the Country" and was published in a national magazine. I sewed all the costumes. :-) Since then, we've been doing the college/work thing, and have 2, potty-trained bunnies as our kids, Sammy and Smokey. No "real" kids yet, as that takes money.
