Class of 1981
Air Force, 15 Years
Served 1985-2000, first as Reconnaissance Photo, then as Sheet Metal Structural Repair. I was Active Duty, then Reserves, then finally with the KY Air National Guard. I was stationed in several different places to include Germany, Puerto Rico, and then Panama twice. Honorable discharge with a partial early retirement.

I joined the Marine Corps after 2 years at UofL...I joined on a contract to be an air traffic controller. I was honorably
discharged after one tour of duty 1981, and then joined the FAA as a civilian air traffic controller. I retired from the FAA in 2013, as an air traffic manager at Louisville Int'l Airport ATC Tower. I will always appreciate my active duty time in the Marine Corps, as it helped prepare me for life. Semper Fi!

Marine Corps, 20+ Years
I served 25+ years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps, retiring Apr 2007. I enlisted in the Marine Corps Dec 1981 and after completing boot camp in Parris Island, South Carolina, I was assigned to Camp Pendleton CA. During my first 20 years I spent majority of my time stationed at Camp Pendleton with many different units and at all echelons of command. I also go to spend time deployed to Okinawa Japan, on Western Pacific tours as part of Battalion Landing Teams aboard Navy ships, to the Gulf War in 1991, and too many other small places/countries abroad. My last 5+ years was spent in Camp Lejeune, NC, and Quantico VA working to establish an Anti-Terrorism unit and as the Marine Corps’ Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Requirements Officer, respectfully. For my entire Marine Corps career I served as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Specialist/Officer. My final rank when I retired was as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CWO-4).

Our Jeffersontown High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Jeffersontown High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Louisville are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
