Electronics Technician 3rd Class Petty Officer, Boot Camp & training in Great Lakes NTC, Served aboard the USNS Harkness, TAGS-32 a Survey Ship with mission to update water depths (charts). Worked in Aegean Sea, Submarine Training area south of Sicily, Dominican Republic and Haiti, Suez Canal. Visited ports in Greece, Italy, Spain, Dominican Republic, Haiti, St Thomas, St Croix, Puerto Rico. Often went ashore with equipment to track communications satellites for 2 wk periods. Was injured during heavy seas while backloading teams that were ashore.
