1930 Graduate turns 100

Charleen Roberta (Purcell) Hanan – Class of 1930 - celebrated her 100th Birthday on Thursday, June 27th, 2013. She was the oldest graduate attending the 100th Year Reunion.

1969 graduate Bill VanKirk dies

Bill died in 2009 after years of heart disease. He was in Trails club he had great memories from his years at Jeff one particular memory riding his Honda through A floor with Ed Campbell. R.I.P.

1976 Graduate Ron Woods dies

Ronnie died at home on the 19th of August. His obituary will be in the St Johns Review on the 14th and in the Oregonian, this Sunday the 9th. He loved his time at Jefferson and talked about the Glory days often to me (his wife Cathy) and to anyone else who would listen. Even guys from Roosevelt! Ronnie was a star athlete at Jefferson and was on the year book as well as participating in other school activities. He was a member of the Trails club as well. He attended the 100 year reunion where he had a wonderful time seeing staff and students from a wide range of years.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Woods and his three step children Jack, David and Elizabeth as well as his brothers Gary and Barry Woods both Jefferson Grads.
Many people loved him and attended his funeral service at Hustads on the 25th of August.

Benny Mathews died on 4-1-11 at 10:00 AM. I for one will miss him.
