Serves first 6 years as an enlisted ET on-board the USS Meyerkord DE-1058. After Graduating from Penn State, I reenlisted in an Officer program and served on the USS Manitowac LST-1198 and USS Belknap CH-26.

Commissioned 2nd. Lt. from USAF Academy 1964. Rated Pilot 1965 and assigned to Viet-Nam 1967-68. Later flew transports, C-118, C-130,C-141, and C5 until 1984. Retired as Major. Highest award was the Distinguished Flying Cross for a mission flown over Khe Sanh, SVN in a EC-47 aircraft.
