| About Me | After studying wildlife biology in college, I put my degree to work ski bumming in Tahoe. I then worked for Patagonia (makers of outdoor apparel) for half a decade, and met my (now) husband, John, who also worked for the company. We lived for a few years in Ojai, CA before tiring of the long commute to the mountains on weekends. We then moved our stuff to Bend, OR, and did some seasonal work, including a stint studying wolves in Yellowstone and one studying springs in Grand Canyon (finally put that wildlife degree to work!) When we moved to Bend permanently, I worked as Associate Director for the Oregon Natural Desert Association, a conservation group working on wilderness protection in eastern Oregon. And, finally, now that John and I have taken the plunge into parenthood (we have Lily 3, and Ian 1), I am working as a full-time mom - probably the most difficult, definitely the most rewarding, and arguably the job that utilizes my degree to the fullest!
