| About Me | I got married in 1979 to Roger McKinney. We met in college. We have lived on Roger's reservation in Kansas (Kickapoo Nation) where our oldest son Jarom was born. We moved back to Virginia, where Roger received his Master of Fine Arts in painting from American University. I was a stay at home mom for the most part, but did temp. work at George Mason University. Our youngest son Jordan was born in Burke, VA. We then moved to Zuni, NM, and lived in the Zuni Pueblo while Roger worked at the middle school. Albuquerque, NM was next. I did a short stint at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service before we moved to the Phoenix area. I worked in the Juvenile Detention Center for several years while Roger worked at the Heard Museum. We moved to Lamoni, IA, for 10 months and then moved back to Higley, where we've been ever since. I got my teaching certification and have been teaching kindergarten for the past 8 years. Roger teaches art at Scottsdale Community College. We are confirmed desert rats. Our oldest son graduated from college in May and got married in June.
