Matt, as he was known to all of his friends, bravely fought cancer for over 7 yrs. He never gave up, he was always optimistic. He enjoyed life, he loved, and he inspired. Some of you may remember him in the band, playing his tuba. He was a musician and aspired to be a teacher. As his best friend I was privileged and honored to have known him. As his brother, I lost a part of my family. My children will always remember him, and for those who have known him, I hope all of yours will too. Matt once said "I know one thing for sure, I will beat this thing, even in death," and he did.
