Mr. Lunsford was one of my favorite teachers at Robinson. He was the director of the marching band from the beginning and was so well respected that he was the lead band director of the 1972 Inaugural marching band, of the largest band assembled at that time, with 1,976 members. This was done re our 200th birthday in 1976. He was very funny and got along well with students. I was in the marching band front for 3 years and very involved in the choral department as well as the jazz band (keyboard) so I spent a lot of time in that department with several teachers. Mr. Lunsford helped make my high school experience a good one.

How could he have graduated in 1976?? Something doesn't add up...

I think that is a default date for posts on this site. I doubt much research went into it. Jim Lunsford was likely named here because he taught many of the members of the class of '76. As he was born in June 1930, it is my guess he graduated from HS with the class of 1949.
