About | November 24, 2008 6:00 AM LANDENBERG, PA — Robert Craig Bacchieri, age 46, of Landenberg, PA passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2008. He was the son of Leo Robert and Carole (Condon) Bacchieri of East Wareham, MA and Englewood, FL. He was the husband of his loving wife and very best friend, Joell Sanders Bacchieri and the very proud father of his two sons, Leo James and Max Anthony. Bob graduated from Wareham H.S. in Wareham MA in 1980 and lettered in basketball and baseball. He earned a B.A. degree from Stonehill College, Easton, MA where he played varsity baseball. Subsequently, he earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN, graduating in 1985. Bob began his business career in 1985 as an engineer for the U.S. Navy in Newport RI. In 1990, he moved to Newark, DE and commenced a successful fifteen year career at MBNA America Bank. In his last six years at the bank, he was Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing and Business Development for multiple business lines. He spent a short time at Citizens Bank as Vice President, Business Marketing Executive. An avid fisherman, Bob had a specific passion for exploring and angling in shallow saltwater. Prior to moving from New England, he spent every possible moment fishing different areas of Cape Cod and Buzzards Bay. He also spent countless hours fishing the shores of White Island pond in East Wareham where he lived with his beloved parents for many years. Bob was deeply fond of times on the Virginia Eastern Shores Lower Chesapeake Bay, where he and his family owned a cottage for several years. He enjoyed spending time with close family and friends. He also loved any opportunity to watch the Boston Red Sox or Notre Dame football with his sons. Bob is survived by his wife of 15 years, Joell Sanders Bacchieri; his sons; Leo James and Max Anthony; his parents, Leo Robert and Carole Condon Bacchieri; his sister, Karen and husband Dwayne Roberson; his brother Gregg and wife Stacey Bacchieri and their children, Krista and Nolan; his sister, Jill and husband Jeff Jones and many loving family members. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 22 at St. John the Baptist Church, Newark, DE. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Robert C. Bacchieri may be made to the Leo J. and Max A. Bacchieri Scholarship Fund, c/o Wachovia Bank, N.A., Greenville Financial Center, 4015 Kennett Pike, Greenville, DE 19807. Arrangements are by the Doherty Funeral Home.
