Sheldon and I were each other's first boyfriend/girlfriend in the fall of 1965. I met him when he was the hall monitor outside the cafeteria and I would often share my sandwich with him. After several months, we broke up, but then he invited me to the prom and that was the first and only night that I pulled an all-nighter! I saw him once after the prom when he was on leave from the Navy and we lost touch. In the late 1990s, through the magic of the internet, I learned that he was living in Las Vegas and on my first trip to Vegas, I called him from the MGM Grand hotel where I was staying and learned that is where he worked as a slot shift supervisor from midnight to 7 a.m. My phone call blew his mind! We met that evening in the casino for a drink, where he introduced me as his prom date to his co-workers. I'm glad I got to see him one last time.
