Edward Ernest "Judge" Reinhold Jr., best known as Judge Reinhold, is a notable American actor born on May 21, 1957, in Wilmington, Delaware. Known for his prolific acting career in Hollywood, he rose to prominence during the 1980s, starring in popular films such as 'Stripes' (1981), 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' (1982), 'Gremlins' (1984), and 'Ruthless People' (1986). Moreover, he co-starred in all films of the 'Beverly Hills Cop' franchise (1984, 1987, and 1994) and 'The Santa Clause' franchise (1994, 2002, and 2006).

Reinhold grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and is an alumnus of James Monroe High School. His first significant role in films was as Brad Hamilton in 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High', where he worked with notable actors such as Sean Penn, Phoebe Cates, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nicolas Cage.

Reinhold gained further recognition for his role as Detective Billy Rosewood in 'Beverly Hills Cop' (1984), co-starring with Eddie Murphy. Despite having a few unsuccessful ventures, Reinhold demonstrated his determination to provide performances that audiences could empathize with, portraying an 'Everyman' persona he believed people could identify with.

However, his career faced a downturn after his lead role in 'Vice Versa' (1988) didn't resonate with the audience. This period was also marked by Reinhold's reputation for being difficult on set, leading to a decline in opportunities.
