About Me | Born December 15 My life in a capsule: Family History: I am the daughter of parents who grew up on the Homestead in Crossville, Tennessee. My Dad's homestead house is still standing. It's an awesome heritage. I grew up in a military family.....My Dad retired from the US Marine Corps after 30 years of service and worked for Civil Service for 10 years.. My Mom worked at the PX. I was born in Dayton, Ohio. We lived in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and California. I love watching football and basketball. I am a sports fanatic....I was always the new kid at school and I was always very afraid, scared, shy and very self-conscious. I have spent my adult years trying to conquer my fears and figure out who I really am......... Work History: Retired from PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center - Employed from 10/11/1993 to 9/28/2012 -19 years. Retired from Good Samaritan Medical Center - Employed from November 1970-1989 - 19 years. "I think 19 must be my lucky number." In high school I did lots of babysitting, my first job was cashier at a Speedy Mart in San Diego, while attending San Diego Mesa Jr. College. My first "real" job was at Pacific NW Bell in San Diego as a long distance operator on a cord board, from August 1966-1968. I loved that job! When I moved to Oregon, chasing a mam, of course, I transferred to Pac NW Bell in Portland, but decided it was too far to drive so I got on at General Telephone Company in Beaverton, then I worked at GAF in Beaverton, snack bar at Beaverton Bowling Alley, then worked for Montgomery Wards in Portland, then Good Samaritan on the switchboard, worked at the grand opening at Fred Meyers on Mill Plain for a a few months when working at Good Sam, when I retired from there I worked at The Columbian in Vancouver as a spotter, because I could take my kids with me in the car, worked for 2 months at Information Please! doing data entry. Provided child care for neighbor kids, then got on at SWMC on the switchboard, then got full time at BCCHP. So after all those years of work, it's time to enjoy each day and work on staying healthy. Marriage History: I was married to Steven Joe Herman on November 23, 1968 until he left me for the secretary at his work in 1980, divorced July 23, 1982. I met Steve as a sophomore in high school. -- legally 14 years of marriage....12 years really. I married Donald Edward Denman on May 26, 1984 until he left in Oct 26, 2002, divorced May 17, 2004. Don was my next door neighbor -- legally 20 years of marriage, 18 years really.... My Children: God blessed me with five really great children! I have two children from my first marriage. Ronny Scott Herman, my oldest son is good at everything he tries to do. Ronny's married to Tina Marie. Stefanie Paige Herman is an awesome singer and a fun loving person. She's an awesome interior decorator. She's a fun loving person and has a lot of friends. I just wish she would realize her value and stop looking for love in all the wrong places. I have three children from my second marriage. Heather Louise Denman is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She is extremely organized. She is a great singer as well, and loves to sing karaoke. Heather loves anything country. My son, David Jonathan Denman has a great sense of humor and should have been an actor. He is great at everything he does. He's a natural athlete and awesome dancer. He's a great basketball player. He's a great single Dad. He tries very hard and is a very hard worker. God blessed him with many talents and gifts. My youngest son, Joel Arthur Denman served our country in the Army. Joel is super intelligent and a great athlete. He went to State in pole vaulting as a sophomore in high school and has run in marathons and a triathlon. He loves to fish. He loves wrestling and teaching youngsters to wrestle. He stands up for what is right and is a great person. My Grands: I love my 9 wonderful and talented Grandchildren......Andrew Pruden, US NAVY, Alexus Herman, Amanda Herman, Makinzie Haroldson, Tiffany Seekins-LaBonte, Savannah Seekins, Summer and Drake Pilcher and Jaxon Denman. Hopes & Dreams: Dreaming of taking a trip to England, Ireland (Love that accent).....and visiting JANE AUSTIN'S HOUSE......LOVE HER BOOKS AND MOVIES.... I dream of traveling the world, I want to go to Israel, Australia, well, basically anywhere and everywhere. I want to go to all the National Parks. I want to go to all the football stadiums, baseball stadium, basketball stadiums. I want to visit John Hagee's Church in San Antonio, Texas, Charles...(read more) |
