The Planning Committee for the 50th Reunion met yesterday at U S Pizza in North Little Rock. We are continuing to plan for the reunion.
Dates for the reunion October 9 and 10 are confirmed. 25 rooms have been reserved at the Riverfront Wyndham in North Little Rock for those of you who wish to stay there. Be sure to mention "JHS Class of 1965 reunion" when you book your room so that you will get the special rate of $89.00 (includes breakfast).
A meet and greet gathering will be held at the Wyndham Friday evening beginning at 5:30. Lite horsdeourves will be served and there will be a cash bar.
Tentatively, during the day Saturday we will meet at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Shooting Range (time to yet be determined) on Graham Road in Jacksonville. Plans are for barbeque catered by a local establishment. This is a beautiful new facility. We have reserved a large room with attached covered patio so weather should not be a factor. The room has projection equipment. Also, since the Arkansas/Alabama game may be on while there we are checking to ensure that we can receive the game. For those of you who enjoy shooting, this is a great location. Please note: no alcohol at the Shooting Range.
Finally, tentatively, we will gather in the evening Saturday at Juanita's Mexican Restaurant in the River Market in Little Rock for food, drinks, and fun. We are very proud of the River Market. There is a trolley that runs from the Argenta District (Wyndham) in North Little Rock thru the River Market and to the Clinton Presidential Library.
We are asking for volunteers to work on decorations for the reunion. If you can't volunteer your services maybe you can share any ideas you might have. Please share those ideas on this site. Also, share any pictures you have from our school days so that we can share those with others.
Next meeting for the Planning Committee is Sunday, March 15, at 2:00 p.m. at U. S Pizza near McCain Mall. Please come join us. We are really enjoying our meetings and having a fun time catching up.
We think this will be a great reunion which it should be since it is our 50th. Many of you from out-of-town have said that you plan to be here. So, the Planning Committee is determined to provide the best, the most fun, and the most memorable reunion ever for you!!! All we ask is that you come and be with us.
