Emily M. Wilson is a Pacific Northwest native (born in Aberdeen, WA, living in Seattle, WA) and has traveled N. Africa and parts of the Middle East for business and pleasure. After attending University of Puget Sound and graduating from the University of Washington in Seattle with a degree in Political Science (1973), she spent her early professional years both travel and sales/marketing fields with Fortune 500 companies such as Bristol Myers/Clairol, Clorox, Olympic Stain and Weyerhaeuser. Working with individual travel agencies, corporate wholesalers, major airlines, cruise lines, and adventure travel companies Emily has greatly diversified her travel expertise. Of all her destinations, Emily Wilson prefers N. Africa & the Middle East. These keen interests lead Emily, in 1996, to attain two advanced university degrees. That year (1996), Emily graduated with honors in both Near Eastern Studies and Comparative Religions specializing in North Africa, the Middle East and Islam. Owning her own business, Emily Unlimited, for over 20 years, Emily Wilson additionally works as a professional organizer and "Clutter Controller". A veteran "Gold Circle" member of N.A.P.O. (National Association of Professional Organizers of America), Emily additionally lectures on clutter control in the Pacific NW. Personally, Emily Marie Wilson has been married to Michael A. Rich for more than 30 years. The Seattle couple has a teenage son, Garret. In spring 2007, Emily authored: From Boats to Board Feet: The Wilson Family of the Pacific Coast, a comprehensive, handsomely illustrated 464-page book detailing the Wilson family (a Swedish immigrant family who originally settled in Rainier, Oregon) and its business enterprises along the American Pacific Coast in the 1800s and 1900s. Leland Nitzler of the Everton’s Genealogical Helper November/ December 2007 said: "Honestly, this volume is one of the best family histories I've ever seen, complete with detailed endnotes and bibliography, portions of the volume that are so important to good genealogical research, but often skimped upon. Also included are numerous pedigree charts and family group sheets. An unbelievably great book, it's one anyone would be proud to own." While Emily can sandwich more activities into one day than most people can, she still enjoy such things as reading, gardening, and expressing herself (cross-culturally) via photography. However, Emily’s her main joy is tour leading and showing/ teaching others about North Africa (especially Morocco) and the Middle East (Egypt, Jordan, Turkey …& more!), a part of the world she loves the best.
