Major Jeffrey Hinds, a 1991 graduate of J.J. Pearce High School and a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas is coming home. Jeffrey ends his latest mid-east tour this spring. This has been the toughest of his three mid-east deployments. Arriving in Afghanistan in early May, 2010, it wasn't long before the snow melted and the mountain passes presented a viable route for Taliban insurgents attempting to enter Afghanistan along the border of the Kunar province. As the commander of A Company, 2nd Battalion, 327th Air Assault Infantry Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Jeffrey was involved in nearly constant battles throughout the summer of 2010. Soon, the winter snows will melt again, making travel possible through the mountain passes. But this time, it will be another soldier's battle. Jeffrey will be home at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, with his wife, Kitty and their three sons.
