| About Me | Flunked out of LSU three times. Spent 3 years, 8 months, and 15 days in the Air Force. After Basic, I spent a year in Cheyenne, Wyoming and two years at the Morón Air Base and Seville Air Base in España. Finally got my act together and finished university in Mobile in 1988. Got a Masters at the age of 50, 1997, and I don't recommend waiting that long. Also in 1997, I lost my 23 year old daughter to MS. Written over 400 poems - some published. Started a reading list in 1990 that now totals over 3,665 books. Volunteered with the Sierra Club and traveled Idaho, Washington and Oregon promoting Wild Salmon recovery in the Northwest. Help start a literary festival in Brattleboro, Vermont and Bangor, Maine. Served as Board Chair for Windam County Reads, which until recently had the only private non-profit bookmobile in the USA.
