Michael entered the Army in the summer of 1989. He did his Basic Training at Ft. Leonardwood, Mo. and his AIT at Ft. Lee, Va. Michael was stationed in Germany from 1990-1994. From there, he deployed to Saudi Arabia and Iraq in support of Operation Desert Shield and Storm. Michael returned to the United States in 1994 and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wa., where he remained until his discharge in 1999.
