He was engaged in combat Nortjh of the 38th parallel and was killed in action, Sept. 7, l952 He was awarded the DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS, posthumously. Robert C. Blake graduated from Inglewood High School as the Class Valedictorian in 1977. He entered the US Air Force on the delayed enlistment progam in Dec 1980. He served honorably during his 24 years and retired at the rank of TSgt. He tours of duty included Germany, England, Saudi Arabia, and various bases in the continental United States. He was also a member of a 15 man crew that helped return the 13 Americans killed in the bombing of the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya in 1998.
