Bryan C. Coronel
Class of 2001
After I graduated in 2001, I went to the United States Army Reserves where I worked as a Cargo Specialist. When I finished bootcamp, I went back to school to finish nursing. Nursing was the big thing back then so I was trying to get in the nursing program anywhere in San Jose particularly at Evergreen Valley College. Since I couldn't get in the program, I felt like I giving up and possibly choosing a different career path. My parents decided to help me in going to nursing school back in my birthplace in Manila, Philippines. I studied four years at Far Eastern University for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006. In 2010, I graduated being one of the oldest in my class because in the Philippines most people start out college at the age of 16 years old, but I didn't let that discourage me. Instead, I felt proud joining this young fellows who also shares the same dream of becoming a nurse. Last March of 2011, I pass my NCLEX RN exam. Lastly I am happy to say that I am finally a Registered Nurse. Now the challenge is finding an employer that will utilize my skills and knowledge. There's still challenge in road ahead, but I keep a positive attitude in hopes of finding a job.
