Jeffrey Conklin, 38, of Burnsville, Minn., formerly of Independence, died Friday in a plane crash in Colorado. He was a pilot for Northwest Airlines.Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Conklin of Phoenix, Ariz.; parents, Charles and Audrey Conklin of Independence; two brothers Paul of Council Bluffs, and Charlie of Independence; five sisters, Jacki Homung of Iowa Falls, Cindy Osborn of Bellevue, Neb., Mary Sullivan of Des Moines, Pam Fitzgerald of Independence, and Cathy Conklin of Iowa City.Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, First Presbyterian Church in Independence. A military memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at White’s, Independence. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
