Andrea Emmot Eason

Class of 1960

WALTER "KAYO" EMMOT, Independence, KS, set new coaching records during his tenure as football coach at Independence High School. His Bulldogs set a record of 62 wins and one loss during 1954-1962 and claimed a state record of 49 consecutive football victories!. Kayo's overall high school record was 103 wins, 14 losses and 3 ties for 83 percent.
Chosen to be included in the Washburn University Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach Emmot was not only a great coach but also a great athlete in his own right. While at Beloit High School he lettered four years in football and three years in basketball. At Washburn University he was a four-year letterman in football and elected to the All-Missouri Valley Team.
