Study Abroad with YFU USA
(YFU) was named one of Lexiophiles'Top 10 Study Abroad Programs: English and has an A-rating on RateMyStudyAbroad.com. Advertised as a life-changing program, not just an exchange program, YFU offers students ages 15-18 the opportunity to study abroad for a year, a semester, a summer, or through another specialty program like a sports, nature, or theater-focused program. Through the program, students can participate in an exchange in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, and 35 other countries throughout the world. Most destinations don't require the student speaks the language, and in some cases, students may even get the opportunity to stay with a host family that speaks English.
A program through YFU ranges from $6,495 to $15,495 and includes:
Airfare to and from the destination
Local and regional triYouth for Understandingps
24-hour emergency assistance
Tutoring, counseling, or other support
A carefully screened host family
Enrollment in school
Help obtaining a visa or residence permit
To help cut down on the cost of the programs, YFU also offers 300 government and corporate scholarships for students. Students can find out about those scholarships by attending a virtual information night or creating an account on the organization's website.

Bring the World Home: Host an International Exchange Student
Volunteer with International Exchange Students!
How would you like to teach a Bangladesh teenager the fine art of ordering fast food at a drive through? Or show a Brazilian student how to pass a football with his hands instead of his feet? It’s possible when you volunteer as a host family for an AFS exchange student. Students from AFS Intercultural Programs come from more than 60 countries to experience life in America with families just like yours. You’ll learn about your culture, and more deeply appreciate your own. For more information call Shaun Sullens at ssullens@afsusa.org or call 503-894-0367.

Students arrive in August and stay for a school year or semester. Your family can host for one school year, a semester, 12 weeks or 6 weeks.
Meet Fariah from Bangladesh:
Fariah describes herself as a bit shy at times and a little clumsy. She enjoys watching movies and televisions series, anime, playing video games, drawing, reading, volunteering, playing sports and is learning how to play the guitar and drums. Her favorite activity is playing the guitar because it eases her mind and she can express her emotions through the music. She practices playing the guitar anytime she can and likes to sing while doing so. Fariah wants to become a lawyer to help bring peace and justice to her country and eventually to the world as well.
