The Chinook Observer reported, "Maxim left Ilwaco High School to join the service, fatally stepping on a land mine after less than year in Cambodia and Vietnam. He was 19." Loved him like a brother. Was first person I met when my family moved to Ocean Park. Wonderful sense of humor and a pleasure to be around. Died quickly after being sent to Vietnam war. Buried in Ocean Park,Washington. Still miss his smile.
