Martha Anne Peacock, age 73, of Chillicothe, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Martha was born on May 18, 1951 in Peoria, IL to Charles “Buck” and Alice V. (Doran) Welch. She married Douglas Peacock on September 9, 1999 in Chillicothe and were together 36 years.
Surviving are her husband, Doug; her sons, Joshua Evans of Chillicothe, IL and Seth (Kelli) Evans of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Hattie, James and Elliott; her brother, Dave Welch of Chillicothe; her sister, Sandra (Gary) Warner of Bloomington, IL; and many nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A proud Mossville Warrior cheerleader, Martha went on to graduate from Chillicothe High School in 1969. She was a bus driver for IVC District 321 for over 15 years, in addition to her many roles in life. She enjoyed fundraising for the Community Needs Agency in Chillicothe, and getting together with her Bunco group and bowling league over the years. Martha was also a beloved member of the YaYas.
