Merle Edward Davis, Jr., age 55, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Ed was born on May 1, 1964 in Peoria, IL to Merle and Sandra (Smith) Davis. He married Dawn Lauber on February 18, 1992 in Marshall Co.
Surviving are his wife, Dawn; his children, Jennifer Davis of Peoria, Ryan Davis of Chillicothe and Candace Davis of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, Aubrey and Eli; his mother, Sandra; three brothers, Mike (Kay) Davis, Marty (Becky) Davis and Rob Davis. He was preceded in death by his father.
Ed graduated from IVC High School in 1983 and then from the Wichita School of Auto Mechanics. He worked for Galena Gravel until 1998. He then battled several years with Grave's Disease. Ed's grandpa instilled in him a love of hunting, fishing and camping and Ed passed that love down to his children. He loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids, and was active in their lives. He also enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his friends and his sidekick, Tessa.
