Obituary:
Michael Scott Rodier, 53, of Peoria passed away at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Mike was born on May 14, 1963, in Peoria to Herbert and Marjorie (Kerbow) Rodier. He married Jill Gilles on Jan. 10, 1997. They survive.
He is also survived by one son, Dan (Julie) Gilles of Washington; two grandchildren, Isaac and Mackenzie; two sisters, Theresa (William) Finerty of Dunlap and Amy (Tony) Matheny of Galesburg; two brothers, William (Nancy) Rodier of Germantown Hills and Christopher "Kip" Rodier of Chillicothe; many nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Lavona Gilles of Chillicothe; and brother-in-law, Mike (Donna) Gilles of Davenport, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Tom Gilles.
Mike was a graduate of IVC High School. During his baseball career, he set school records for pitching and received a scholarship to Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Fla. One of his favorite memories while there was striking out Bo Jackson.
He was an avid fisherman and loved sports of all kinds, especially the Boston Red Sox.
Mike worked at Caterpillar for 20 years.
His family is proud that he chose to be an organ and tissue donor
