served as ground recon with A troop 2nd squadron 17th calvary of the 101st Airborne Division in vietnam from dec.1967 to dec 1968, participated in the Tet offensive of 1968, and served the remainder of active duty as a tank commander with Co.C 3rd Battalion 33rd Armor 3rd Armored Division in the Federal Republic of Germany from jan. 1969 to july 1970, honorably discharged in july 1970
