Deceased as of 1997 class reunion - date unknown - The following info. is from the 1997 reunion: Genne Rue (Sayre) Gonterman wanted to be airline stewardess, but back then you couldn't be taller than 5ft.6in. so she went to work as a reservation clerk . She married Ray Gonterman and they had two daughters. It was when she was expecting their first daughter that the Doctor discovered a lump behind Genne's ear which was cancerous. Genne lived until her girls were nearly grown.
Genne Rue was born in Pawnee, OK on September 18, 1938. School: HHS 12 yrs.Parents: Mr. and Mrs. CE Sayre. Accomplishments: B/B 4 yrs., Band 4 yrs, Sec&Treas. Band '55 and '56. Class Reporter Soph. yr. Glee Club 1 yr.Freshman Trio, Junior and Senior plays, FHA 4 yrs. Outside activities: Girls State 1955; President MYF . Favorite Sport Basketball, Favorite movie: "A Man Called Peter", favorite pastime swimming, favorite song: "I'll be Home", hobby:sewing, pet peeve two-faced people, greatest asset Mother, worst failing taling about people, Ambition: to be a Commerce Teacher. Next Year: attend SW State College.
