| About Me | I truly view everyday as a gift from the Lord in which one should rejoice and be glad. I was fortunate to grow up in a Christian home where the Lord was worshipped and we attended church on Sunday and Wednesday night. My mother taught Sunday school for many years and my father was an ordained deacon in the Baptist church. I have one brother, now deceased, who lived in Richmond, Kentucky and was an ordained deacon in his church. I retired from the State of Florida Vocational Rehabilitation Program after 35 years of service. It was a program I dearly love. The blessed me with my wonderful wife Kathy. We have been married 50 years. She is the love of my life and a stabilizing force in my life. We have three healthy adult sons, two precious grandsons and a dear church family where we can worship in a country without fear of retribution. The most life changing event in my life was when I asked Jesus to come into my heart at age 9. No other event has or continues to impact my life more. Seeing our sons come to Christ was also a major event in our lives. I hope the Lord lets me live long enough to see our two grandsons give their lives to the Lord. I was greatly influence by a dear friend and brother in the Lord by the name of Allen Brabham. Allen was an ordained minister and chaplain with whom I also worked with for many years in Vocational Rehabilitation. He was a mentor to me and used of the Lord to lead me into bi-vocational ministry. In January 1995, I accepted the position of bi-vocational pastor for Antioch Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL. Under the Lord’s leading, I made application during that time and was accepted in the Master of Divinity program at Luther Rice Seminary. I was ordained as a minister of the Gospel in March of 1995 at Antioch Baptist church and graduated from Luther Rice Seminary with my Master of Divinity degree with a pastoral emphasis in 1997. I have served as interim pastor for several Baptist churches in the Big Bend area since retiring from the state. I loved the CPE program which I entered after my retirement in 2010. The Late Dr. John Galloway and Chaplain Ed Melvin were a great blessing in my life and encouraged me to pursue chaplain service. I am truly grateful to the Lord for the opportunities He gave me to serve others as a hospital chaplain. I retired from chaplaincy during Covid and consider my ...(read more) |
