Thanks...

...to all of you who wrote/called/e-mailed after Sandy blasted her way through here. We were among the lucky: Garage flooded, we lost about 16 trees and one car - and the boathouse was lifted clear out of the river and dropped in the back yard! Rich is still cleaning up, and I'm enjoying a new career in my old age: Dog handler. We adopted a dog from the National Great Pyrenees Rescue Association nearly two years ago and, despite having been abused, Bandit's become a registered therapy dog. We make regular visits to a nearby nursing home and it really does people good to see something that looks like a small white bear coming trotting through the door. Thanks again, everybody! (You know, that boathouse is bothering me. I think I'll hang up a few Japanese lanterns, throw a big party, and invite all the neighbors over to see Our New Summerhouse. Waste not, want not!)
