| About Me | I joined the U.S. Marines (1983-1987) and found the experience to be wholly distasteful. I'd just say the Marine Corps does not encourage development of ones mind. Upon my EAS in 1987, I was then employed by the El Paso County Texas Sheriffs Office as a Detention Officer in the jails. I became peace officer in 1988 and was assigned to Patrol. While in Patrol, I was a Field Training Officer and selected for street gang suppression. From 1991 to 1995 I was assigned to Community Services as a Crime Prevention Specialist and DARE officer. In 1995 I was promoted to Detective and assigned to Criminal Investigations. In 1995 I was again promoted to Sergeant and assigned to Patrol. I also served in Criminal Investigations and Civil Process as a Sergeant. In 2005 I was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to Detention. I also served as a Patrol Station Commander as a Lieutenant. I was also the commander of the Civil Process section. In 2008 I was promoted to Bureau Commander and given command of the Jail Annex. I was reassigned to the Patrol Bureau. Then to Criminal Investigations. Shortly thereafter I was appointed a Bureau Commander and took command of the Jail Annex Bureau. Then I took command of the Patrol Bureau. After that, I was given command of the Narcotics & Intelligence Bureau. The completing the circle, my final command was of the Downtown Central Jail, the same location I began my career in the Sheriff's Office. I retired in 2014 after 27 years of service. I switched careers and began teaching High School in the El Paso I.S.D, then...(read more) |
